Fort Monroe Va

Col O Brown
Asst Comr &c Sir.

Capt Flagg has arrived and I judge you have not mistaken your man.
Your letter under date of 23d inst. to R. Churchill, prompts me in behalf of Capt Wilder to ask if a mutual understanding could be come at between Capt F. and Capt W. would you allow them to exchange localities. Capt F here or otherwhere must commence with to him new material, while Capt W. has H Quarters Clerks &c in fact could be in full blast in 48 hours, many reasons might be given why Capt W. desires this point in preference to any other. I am informed that Capt F is not particular whether here or otherwhere lays his field of action, In fact he appears to be a man that avoids no responsibility & acts prompt.

Yours truly
W. H. Hunt
