nor to state that early in September last, I filed with the Bureau for Freedmen in this city, the application of Hamilton S Neale of Northampton Co Va. for a restoration of his lands. I was then informed that the papers were satisfactory, and that you would be instructed to immediately issue an order of restoration.
I respectfully request to be informed, what action if any has been had in the case, and that a duplicate of any order made may be sent to me. If no action has been had I shall be pleased to learn the cause of delay, and the remedies required, to bring the case to a successful termination.

I am Sir
Very respectfully
Your obedient Servant
Charles King
Atty for Neale
