Asst. Comr. Refugees & Freedman

Sir,
I went with the line you sent me, saying my name was on your Pay Rolls of April 1864, which were sent in to the Chief Quartermaster to the Ast. Chief Quartermaster at Washington. He refused to pay me until I produced a voucher from you of my account & that I had not been paid.

Will you please send me such a paper as will enable me to collect my pay? I turned over all the articles I had to Mr. Leathers the 12th of May 1864 & took this receipt for the same.

Please address me at Princeton Mass,

I am
Your obedient Servt.
Wm. G. Leonard.
