I have recd your favor of the 9th inst and hasten to reply I needed no assurance that every possible and consistent with your duties and the public interests will be rendered me by you and the Bureau on behalf of the freedmen at Hampton.

I have just returned from a very pleasant interview with Genl O. O. Howard and I had the same assurances from him as from you but by common consent it has to also been left you to decide what shall be done and how done.
