Dear Sir
Immediately after my return I wrote you quite a lengthy letter and seeing just then one of the Editors of the Chronicle published at Washington I gave it to him on his promise to publish it a promise not yet fulfilled I suppose on a disagreement of the Editors on the question of Negro suffrage. My daughter has been so ill for two weeks that I have not found time to look after the matter but as she is now better I will go over to the Chronicle office and see about it in a day or two

I shall soon have a good deal of advertising of confiscation notices in Richmond and would like to know if there is a truly loyal paper in your
