Brevet Brigadier General O. Brown, U. S. V, having been, by Special Orders No. 192, War Department, Current Series, relieved from duty as Assistant Commissioner of the Bureau Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands, for the State of Virginia, and directed to aid the Assistant Commissioner until his services can be dispensed with, is hereby appointed Acting Assistant Adjutant General for the Bureau of Refugees, Freedman and Abandoned Lands for the Department of Virginia, and will be obeyed and respected accordingly.

I. Lieutenant Colonel H. NEIDE V. R. C., is hereby relieved from duty as Acting Assistant Inspector General Bureau Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands, State of Virginia, - (consisting of the 2nd, 3rd, 7th, and 8th Districts,)- with Head Quarters at Richmond, Va.

II. Lieutenant Colonel GARRICK MALLERY, V. R. C. is hereby relieved from duty as Inspector of 1st, 3rd, and 9th Districts, and is appointed Inspector of Northern Division State of Virginia,-(consisting of 1st, 9th, 4th, and 10th Districts,)-with Head Quarters at Richmond, Va.

I. Special Order No 97. Par. I & II, issued from these Head Quarters, dated 15th June 1866, is hereby changed to S.O. No 96. par. VII and VIII C.S.

II So far as York County Dept of Va is concerned Sections-2d,3d,4th,5th,and 1st of Circular No 10 Head Quarters, Asst. Commissioner, State of Va, dated March 12th 1866 be and are hereby revoked.
Upon and after the receipt of this order the Asst Supt of York County Va, will be governed by instructions promulgated in Circular Letter issued from Head Quarters, Asst Commr, State of Va, dated Sept 27th 1865. with this

III So far as Nansemond County, Dept of Va, is concerned, Sections 2d,3,4th,5th and 6th of Circular No 10. Asst. Comr, State of Va, dated Narch 12, 1866, be and are hereby revoked. Upon and after the receipt of this order the Asst. Supt of Nansemond COunty, Va, will be governed by instructions promulgated in Circular Letter issued from Head Quarters Asst Comr, State of Va, dated Sept 27, 1865, with this exception-The Asst Supt. will invite the senior presiding Magistrate of the county to sit upon the court and they two will then choose a third party, and the two officers thus chosen with the Asst Supt. will then constitute the Court. In case of the refusal of the senior Magistrate to act as a member of the Court, one of the other Magistrates will be invited.
