Armstrong [[/left margin]] II. Leave of absence is hereby granted to General S.C. Armstrong, Agent in charge of 5th Sub. Dist, Bureau R.F. & A. White Surg. DeLamater Lt. Schreiner & each Com'nd officer in the Bureau R.F. & A.L., Ste. of Va. [[/left margin]] Officers of the Bureau in this District, who are serving as Military Commissioners, will promptly report for the information of the Asst. Comr, the action taken by them in obedience to paragraph 2. of General Order No. 51, Hd. Qrs, First Military District, dated Richmond, Va., August 7th 1867. This report will specify the amount and character of support of colored paupers which can be relied upon to be afforded by the civil authorities of the several counties. Also the number, names, ages, and condition of the indigent colored people now in charge of this Bureau, whom it is proper for the Assistant Commissioners to order to be transferred to the civil authorities, in conformity with the third paragraph of the above named order. In this report the residences of the paupers severally and their length of residence in reference to the law of Virginia, will be noted. By order of Bvt. Brig. Genl., O. Brown, Asst. Comr.
