Lt. Col. John F. Marsh, 24th Regt. V.R.C. having, in accordance with Special Orders No 181 Hd. Qrs. Dept. of Washington, July 27th 1865, reported to this Bureau is hereby assigned as Supt. of Refugees,  Freedmen & Abandoned Lands for 5th Dist. of Virginia, with Hd. Qrs. at Alexandria, Va whither he will report without delay and assume charge of his District, reporting to Col. O. Brown, Asst. Commissioner at Richmond, Va as also to the Commissioners of the Bureau in cases that require prompt action.

As soon as he has his business well arranged and can leave it in the hands of a competent and reliable officer, Lt. Col. Marsh will be permitted to avail himself of a leave of absence for ten (10) days granted him by Maj.
