WAR DEPARTMENT, ADJUTANT GENERAL'S OFFICE, Washington, October 6th, 1866. Special Orders No.497} (Extract.) 3. 2d Lieutenant Byron E. Hess, Veteran Reserve Corps, is hereby mustered out and honorably discharged the service of the United States, his services being no longer needed. He will receive no final payments, until he shall have satisfied the Pay Department that he is not indebted to the United States. By order of the Secretary of War: E. D.
