I am happy to say that some Officers are very prompt and accurate, But the frequent delays and errors of others, make the requirements of this circular necessary and imperative. If any attendant in Hospital is discharged for reason, his contract must be sent to me for annulment, the same day of discharge with statement of the reason for annulment. If it is desired that some other person be contracted with, to take the place of one discharged, triplicate [[strikethrough]] s [[/strikethrough]] contracts signed sealed and witnessed will be forwarded me promptly. They will not be dated, but will bear date the day I approve them, and draw pay from that date. I cannot antedate contracts, it is against orders.

No attendant will be reported on the weekly or monthly reports by name or otherwise, until the contract with him has been approved by me and the Surgeon in charge receives for the employee a copy of the Same

Medical Officers will see that they have a reasonable supply of blanks on hand, so that no delay shall occur waiting for them.
