SPECIAL ORDERS No. 129
Extract.

I. The lumber, old and new, now borne upon the papers of the Disbursing Officers of this Bureau, will be expended for school-buildings and asylums, the latter including tenants for poor Refugees, and Freedmen, in accordance with the provisions of an Act making appropriations for the support of the Army for the year ending June 30", 1868 and for other purposes, approved March 2" 1867.

In all cases of repairs or partial construction the lumber may be expended, and authority is hereby granted to drop the same from their returns.
