This will be handed you by Dr W. S. Langly, who wishes to bring before you & for your consideration the case of George Locket a freedman who rented the Place of Mr. Moore's [[strikethrough]] last [[/strikethrough]] this year, the Dr will give you only information in regard to it & make a fair statement of facts which you may rest assured will be entirely reliable. This man George has been in Court several time this year Once for marking a yearling not his own. Another time for claiming one of anothers & another time for whipping refuseing to pay a man he had hired & the neighbors all around him seem to be dissatistifed with him and want him away, they say his hands (Freedmen) & him self cause them a great deal of trouble. They are loseing their stock (hogs cows &c) and they have good grounds to suspect that they are taken them. Mrs Moore is anxious to get him off of the place, as well as is
