NARA 200 Edwards Depot Dec 31st 1867 Maj [[Hasfaro?]] Sir I recieved orders from you and have a settlement with George Washington by arbitration but I do not know where he is and I have ben a waitting for him to come forward and he has not come so I will state the facts to you. George and his wife lived on my place about 3 months and I was to pay one of them 15 Dollars per month and the other 10 Dollars and one of them failed to comply with the contract and agreed to leave rather than comply with it and the other left without any case and when they left one of them was indebted to me $41.57 1/2 and the other $39.15 and if you pleas releas my crop from attachment or order the Freedman forward for a settlement for I am reddy for settlement any time Yours Very Respectfully William Bardin
