Dear Sir

As the attorney for Tempe Skinner a freedwoman, in a matter of dispute between her Landlady Mrs M. Reeves & herself in relation to a contract for the cultivation of Mrs Reeves' plantation during the year 1867, I am advised that your interferance is sought by Mrs Reeves or her attorneys

Permit me to say briefly, that Mrs Reeves by her son Robert Reeves & her Agent Dr J.M. Quinn who is the advisor of her husband's estate, was the first party to make application to the Comdt of the Sub. Dist. of R.F. & A.L. at Jackson 

That an arbitration was had under Genl. Ord's order No 24 Circular of Decr 26th 1867 and the arbitrators made their award according to the Letter of the written Contracts
