Edwards Station Miss Jany 12th 1868

I have the honor in obedience to Instructions I received dated Hd. Qrs. Jackson Miss Jan'y, 10th 1868 to send under Guard Frank Cotton a Freedman caught in the act of killing a hog the Property of Mr. H. B. Coker on his Plantation, the evening of Jany 10th 1868  Mr Coker arrested him but he made his escape the morning of the 11th Inst this morning my Party Rearrested him

Mr Austin had all the evidence of the case taken under oath He being a Magistrate the documents I send with the Guard that takes the Prisoner

I have found, by the Prisoner and other Colored men that there is a Club or Organization numbering over one hundred Members here. Joe Kelsy a Yellow Man is their Master or Leader, he is now in Raymond, Hinds County. they have Monthly meetings here in an old Forge 
hoping this will meet the approval of the Comdg Offr
