States that he has been directed by the Bureau Agt. at Jackson to deliver up to some relatives, two minor orphan children whom he has apprenticed under the State law. Has not complied with the request as he will await instructions from the Asst. Commr Desires to know to what extent the law in regard to apprenticing is recognized by Mil'ty. authorities

Respectfully returned to Asst Commr with the information that the children mentioned within, are held by Mr Thomson, by the apprentice law enacted since the surrender. A request was made of Mr Thomson to deliver the children to their natural guardians. The Agent states that the case was investigated, and that from his personal knowledge of facts in this case he was satisfied that the children were not well treated
