PRISON WRITINGS JOHNSON

They then went on; compared Black men to cattle
By further stating that "Negroes are chattel"
This then became the law of our fair land
And evil hatreds spread on every hand.

And friend, these things are still with us today,
A little smoother, but they still hold sway
One of the things this super system lacks
And that, all know, is freedom for the Blacks.

Here are examples and they are a treat
Black soldiers stand while their White prisoners eat
This so-called land of Liberty for All
Never gave Justice to the Black man's call.

Black babes are spat upon, their mothers raped
While mobsters howl the police stood and gaped.
Their homes are burned, their churches meed defiled,
And their appeals are answered, "Wait ahwile."

Black men are beaten, murdered, lynched and more
Here in this land where Stars and Stripes fly o'er
While we send good will tours from our hearth
To tell the world of our great freedom's birth.

Against these wrongs if he should dare to squawk
He is then brutalized or doubled talked.

Why do we send Ambassadors to roam
Why don't they teach Democracy at Home?

To hear the wisdom of his heavenly tongue.
