FREEDOMWAYS FOURTH QUARTER 1966

is devoted to the Negro in Minnesota. Dr. Spangler, Associate Professor of History and Assistant Dean at Macalester College, St. Paul, Minn., earlier published the book The Negro in Minnesota in 1961.
The bimonthly periodical Bibliographic Survey: The Negro in Print has been edited and published for more than a year now by three Negro women writers, teachers and scholars: Beatrice M. Murphy, Jessie H. Roy and Dr. Myrtle W. Henry. The Survey covers new and current books on the Negro as well as older books under such headings as fiction and non-fiction, poetry and drama, paperbacks and reprints, books for young readers and periodical reading. There is also material on minority groups other than the American Negro. The annotations, some rather lengthy, of the books are quite informative. All in all, a very valuable and useful listing.
