The Editors of FREEDOMWAYS ask that readers cooperate with the following request:

"As Lorraine Hansberry's literary executor, I am endeavoring to collect the fullest possible record of her life, activities and correspondence. A number of volumes of her writings are to be published, with accompanying materials and notes on the person behind the words: her life, her thoughts and activities. In this connection, I would appreciate letters, photos, tapes, newspaper references, records of childhood and youth and reminiscences.

"All materials received will be handled with the greatest care and dispatch. Copies will be made and the originals returned promptly. Should anyone submitting such mateirals desire they be held confidential and not be published and/or referred to publicly, I give assurance that such requests will be respected.

"In work of this kind, which attempts to reconstruct the life and essences of an artist whose concern went beyond her profession and whose life affected and continues to affect so many, it is impossible for the outsider to evaluate what may or may not be important. It is in this light that I am seeking materials of any kind, no matter how slight or inconsequential-or important-they may seem to be."
