  way-out and surrealistic. This one is about a black cowboy and his African 
  magic.)
Richette, Lisa Aversa. THE THROWAWAY CHILDREN. Philadelphia and New        
  York: J.B. Lippincott. x+342 pages. $6.95 (Mrs. Richette is a former 
  assistant district attorney in Philadelphia's juvenile court. This book 
  contains 22 cases she was involved in. The juvenile court, she says, channels   
  youthful offenders out of sight and out of mind. Youth get control and 
  punishment in jail or jail-like youth detention facilities rather than 
  treatment and rehabilitation. Mrs. Richette wants basic reforms in the 
  juvenile court system and the creation of community bureaus to handle youth 
  problems.)

  the symposium on black studies held at Yale University in May 1968. The black 
  and white participants were Harold Cruse, Martin Kilson, Jr., M.R. Karenga, 
  G.A. McWorter, D.H. Ogilvie, Boniface Obichere, Nathan Hare, R.F. Thompson, 
  McGeorge Bundy, E.S. Redkey and Alvin Poussaint. While all approve studying 
  the black experience and teaching and learning black history, all do not 
  really want separate black studies institutes in the white universities. 
  Research centers on Afro-American culture and history will be established at 
  40 colleges and universities by $700,000 in grants to the United Negro 
  College Fund.)

  University of Chicago where she grew up. She has taught and choreographed
  modern dance and was once part of a singing trio [with her sisters]. This is
