Feeling of the Whites towards the Freedmen, A kindly feeling is springing up rapidly, between both classes, in Prince Edward Co, and I have every reason to beleive it will continue to improve. For the town of Farmville, four of the most respectable gentlemen of that town have recently organized a Sabbath School for freedmen's children, I am confident that their conduct is prompted by the highest motives, and is in my opinion entitled to the highest commendation. Of Cumberland Co, I regret to state I cannot say as much, there still appears to be a want of confidence between both parties, a feeling not exactly of hatred but of distrust and contempt on the part of the Whites for the freedman. They are not disposed to allow them their rights, however I have reason to beleive that the bitter feeling existing against the freedmen three months ago, has diminished considerable.
