Contracts

The approving of the above has not been as brisk as usual owing to the majority of them having been approved in the months of Dec & Jan. The terms usually offered will average in money, about $90 with food and quarters. first class hands receive as high as $150. when shares of the crop are offered. it will average one fourth of the crop among the entire hands - In this respect, the people of Prince Edward, offer far more liberal terms and inducements, than those of the County of Cumberland. as a natural consequence Prince Edward farmers can obtain more hands and have less trouble with them than their neighbors in Cumberland. the following is the no. of contracts approved in both counties during month of Feb 1866.
