In Cumberland County, a freedmens School is in process of organization, and only lacks Books to go immediately into operation.

The freedmens Camp at this post is in a good Sanitary condition at presant and is useful in the double capacity, of a Refuge for Aged and Destitute freedmen, as well as an employment office for freedmen in want of Situations, when out of employment they flock to this Post and remain here for about a week subsisting themselves. they are immediately sought after by the farmers and contracts are the final result.
