In view of the limited means of the Bureau, care had been used to economize, as much as possible, in establishing Hospitals, and in the assignment of Medical Officers to duty.

All Medical Officers have had a wide direst, and a still wider indirect field of duty. - and as a rule have proved themselves efficient [[strikethrough]] & [[/strikethrough]] kind, and attentive

Hospitals are located at the most important points, - and those most acceptable for a considerable range of country.  From the various portions of the several Districts where there are no Medical Officers - Superintendents of Sub Districts to send patients to these Hospitals for treatment.

Medicines are furnished to these Officers, and other reliable persons, which are proper for prevailing diseases - and which can be safely used by them under instructions - to be used in cases
