Met with less difficulty in the discharge of his duties last month than heretofore.
At Taylor farm several attempts have been made by Freedmen to resist Bureau officers; The parties were promptly arrested.
Extended the time for them to leave.
Mr Pepper has again interfered, told the Freedmen the Bureau had no right to eject them.
Have been able to maintain friendly relations with Civil Authorities - 
Eleven cases have been referred to Military Commission now in session at Fort Monroe, for trial.
