There is a class of white men, residents of the county who have made no contracts as yet with the Freedmen, and who, now the season for labor is commencing, are endeavoring to induce those who have signed Contracts, to break them, try offering them a little higher wages, which they can offer to no, not having been at the expense of keeping them through the winter, any such offending, if brought to our notice, will be taught a lesson not soon to be forgotten, for unless such a system is broken up, great evil will result from it.
