to all, and I would recomend that one be sent here for that purpose, as there is much to be done in the distribution of clothing to the poor &c. which is being sent to Miss Wood by the N.E.F. Aid Society, a branch of which at New Bedford have adopted Miss W. as their agent here -

In consequence of having no assistance I have been unable to complete the Census of the County. -

In conclusion I will say, that as the weather is becoming warmer ,I find that the freedmen are commencing industriously to work the ground and I have less applications of assistance from the poor — There are now a large number of hands wanted by the farmers in the country who have had considerable trouble to get laborers enough.-
