the whites rather than the blacks and in some cases their stubborn determination not to become reconciled to the freedom of the negro, is equalled only by their extreme ignorance. There is an increasing demand for labor in this district and many are being hired to go to Tennessee to work in the cotton fields. All who are able to work can find Employment. 

The Freedmans Courts are now closed and the Circuit Magistrates seem dispensed to give the negro justice in the Circuit Courts
