Freedmens Schools.
Two of the above are in operation in my Dist. one at Farmville and one in Cumberland County just established.  They are both well attended and in charge of excellent teachers.

Freedmens Court.
Since the transfer of criminal cases, but little business is done in these Courts all cases we now try are claims of Freedmen for compensation for last year's services, their employers refusing to pay them until they are compelled to do so by the Court, as a general rule to decisions give satisfaction.

Before closing my report, I would respectfully invite your attention to the want of an orderly at this Post. The services of one is actually necessary and cannot be done without.
