I have had no complaints of improper treatment of the freedmen by the whites and the whites speak of the freedmen as doing far better than they expected.

Schools are much needed in my sub district, for the freedmen; attempts have been made to get up schools here but the want of suitable teachers and of money, has prevented them.

I know of no other facts bearing upon the wellfare of the freedmen to report.
