Sir –

I have the honor to submit the following Report of the condition of Bureau affairs in this county for the month of April/66.

The Freedmen are generally working very well and are getting more accustomed to their new condition.

There has been no cases before the Freedmens Court to be adjusted this month, with one exception, that of Miss Sally Tabb and her Field hands, Other differences have been settled without the necessity of coming before the Court.

Since the issue of Circular No. 10 from your office, turning over criminal cases to the Civil authorities, four colored persons have been arrested for stealing. Two of them for stealing a nag, which they acknowledged at their preliminary trial and in default of bail they are awaiting their trial in the Co. Jail. Another colored man was arrested for shopbreaking and stealing he has had two preliminary trials and now is awaiting final trial at the next criminal Court next October. At the last Court the Grand Jury found a bill against this mans wife for harboring stolen
