Office Asst Supt Nottoway County Va
Nottoway Court House May 29th 1866

Capt Stuart Barnes A Q M
Supt Bureau R F and A L. 2d Dist of Va

Sir
I have the honor to make the following report of Freedmens Affairs in the County of Nottoway Virginia, for the month ending May 31st 1866.

They Freedmen are working verry well and appear to be industrious Many of them will make a large crop the present year.

I think the Freedmen of this County will not require any more Government rations, every Colored person in the County can get employment so as to earn enough to live upon.

Their has been no Criminal Cases (where A Colored person was A party) tried before the Civil Authorities since my last report.

They Colored people of this County are verry orderly and I think their conduct is verry commendable.
