Green Co, if a difficulty occurs with a Freedmen and white person, to drive the Freedmen away without paying him for the labor he has done and am afraid the adjournment of the Freedmens Court, will not work well in this Sub Dist for the present, Not because the justices will not perhaps do their duty but because of the difficulty in bringing the Suit and of the ignorance of Freedmen, and the popular idea that it is right to cheat a Nigger and wrong to hear Nigger testimony in courts, of [[questions?]] against a white man.

I believe the feeling toward the Freedmen by the citizens has much improved especial on the part of the men. The white women of the County and the Freedmen have most of the difficulty that now occurs. They can't get along together it appears in peace
