I have the honor to submit the following report of the condition of the "Freedmen", in this County during May, 1866.

The feeling existing between the white and colored people still continue to be amicable, and every disposition is manifested by the majority of the whites to encourage the Freedmen in their industrial and honest pursuits, - a few cases of disaffection have presented themselves during the month, which in my mind, is attributable to the order turning all Criminal cases over to the Civil Authorities, and the adjournment of the Freedmen's Court at the present time. - however, on investigation most of them have
