been of a trifling nature, and only one case sent to the Grand Jury. - The increase of Destitute Rations issued during the month, is ascribed to a few old and decrepit persons, who had been supported heretofore, by their former masters, and being unable to provide any further support for them. -

The small school in operation in the village of Maysville, some seven or eight scholars taught by a Freedwoman, might be greatly increased, but for the want of Books to carry it on effectually, which have been applied for some time since, some two weeks ago I organized a sabbath school, and if Books could be supplied, a great deal of good might result from it, there being no church in this neighbourhood for the colored people.
