In obedience to Circular No. 6. Bureau of Refugees &c Hd Qrs Asst. Comr State of Va. Richmond Jan. 29th 1866 I have the honor to report that all matters pertaining to the Bureau in this Sub Dis. are working with success: The people of the County, however, are desirous that the Freedmens Court be kept open till the legislature of the State can take some action toward establishing in each County something like a Mayor's Court, for the disposal of such cases as [[strikethrough]] may [[/strikethrough]] have come before the Freedmen's Court from time to time.

Litigation, however, had nearly ceased in this Sub Dis before the order adjourning the Court was received. Now that the Contracts
