I have the honor to state, that I am informed by Major Crandon, Supt. 4th Dist., Va., that no reports from this Sub. District have been forwarded for the month of May, last, and that I am expected to furnish them as far as is in my power.
I regret to say that the records and files in this office are in such a neglected condition, that I am unable to obtain any thing from them that would be of use at the Head Qrs. of the Asst. Com., and I have so recently entered upon the duties of this office, with no
