General.
I have the honor very respectfully to report in compliance with Circular N'o. 6. dated H'd Qrs Supt 10th. V'a. Dist BRF & AL  Fredericksburg V'a. Jany 31st. 1866. the Condition of Bureau affairs in the County of Fauquier V'a. for the month of June /66.

The feeling between the whites and blacks seems to be at present of a very friendly character with some few exceptions. Some few of the farmers were at one time last spring evidently exceedingly anxious to introduce white labor. And I am cognizant of one or two trials by the farmers of German" laborers, which resulted in a complete failure. the Germans after a short term of service demanded higher wages and better subsistence & failing to get this have left the country in apparent disgust. I heard several old residents & farmers of this county the other day in conversation with each other say - "We can't get along with these d-d foreigners" They are too stupid" They can't be understood" and then they are so impudent"! "One Negro man
