Sincere desire to deal justly with the freedmen- Yet I can say that I think the prejudice against the freedmen testifying in court is not so intense as it was a few months ago.

Owing to the fact of the Freedmens School being closed in consequence of vacation for two months (July & August) I have failed to get a report from Miss Wood the teacher -
She informed me just before her departure for the north, however that the average attendance was about the same as last month & that the report would not vary much from her last months report already furnished Your office-

I think by the fall time I shall be able to establish several other Schools in this County. very likely (4) four at least. if not more. I am told that such a move will meet with serious opposition, but I think scarcely more than did the one in Warrenton- I shall (with the approval of the Asst Com'r) try to accomplish something in this direction by the time specified.

In accordance with Circular no 11 of date March 19th \68 I have nearly accomplished the Registry of the colored people of the county- Provisions will probably be made by the county for the support of the indigent freed people I am to know at July Court (next) about it

I am General
Very Respectfully
