In obedience to Circular  No. 6 Bureau of Refugees &c H'd Q'rs Asst. Com'r Va. Richmond, Jan 29th 1866, I have the honor to report that all matters connected with the Freedmen's Bureau in this Sub Dist. are continuing very quietly and with success.  The freedmen are coming to see and comprehend the obligations of there contracts and are generally fulfilling & faithfully complying with them, receiving therefor good wages; generally [[strikethrough]] with [[/strikethrough]] an interest in the crop, which is decidedly the best for those having families, as very many have yet to learn the value of money.

The county expresses a willingness to take & support the destitute freedmen, now supported by the
