I have the honor to make the following report in regards to the Bureau in this County. During the short time that I have been here in the county. I have visited several of the farms for the purpose of seeing for myself how the Freedmen were doing. In most cases I found them doing well. Their crops are in excellent condition and they seem to take an interest in doing for themselves. 

In several instances it has been reported to me by the different farmers that their Freedmen would not cut their wheat. As they (the Freedmen) have an idea that that particular branch of farming did not come under their Contracts as it was not especially mentioned that they should cut wheat. After investigating their cases and settling them satisfactory to all parties concerned. I found that
