opposed to the education of the Colored, those who are not-so, are perfectly indifferent on the subject.

In regard to the Freedmens obtaining justice in the Civil Courts, it has thus far had but partial trial, no cases have yet come to a final trial. although several are now pending; but there seems, in some instances at least, a disposition to dissuade or discourage the Freedmen from attempting to obtain justice by telling him that "if he attempts it, it will amount to nothing" "and that he can make nothing out of it". at the same time the justice says if the applicant insists he shall have his warrant.
