I have had occasion to visit various parts of the county during the past month, to settle difficulties arising as above and in every instance, have succeeded in amicably arranging matters in a manner satisfactory to both parties.
In my journey through the county I find very few idlers, and the crops (with the exception of the wheat which will not be more than one third of an average crop) are very promising.  Corn and Tobacco of which there is being cultivated more then ever before in this County, present a very favorable appearance, and a promise of a large yeild.  More land being under cultivation than at any previous time.

I have been present at all trials before the County Courts, where Freedmen were concerned, either as accused or witness, and have to report that
