Article of agreement made & entered into by and between James H. Stewart a citizen of Dry Grove Hinds Co., State of Mississippi, and James Dickson Freedman of said place this 30th day of November 1866.

The conditions of this obligation are these that said Stewart rents to the said Dickson a parcle [[parcel]] of land known as the Burnett field containing about 100 acres more or less with the house on it. The said Dickson repairs the house cuts the briars bushes and logs that are on the land; also fills up the gullies and circles the land, keeps the fence in repair after it is first built and put in repair by J. H. Stewart, also pays Dickson $2.50 per acre for what land he clears.

And the said Dickson agrees and promises to pay the said Stewart the sum of Three Hundred (300.00) Dollars for the use of the said House and land for the year 1867. Also the said Stewart is to have the use of the pasture as soon as the crop is gathered, the crop being held bound for the rent
