NARA 235

J. Dixon does not expect to have anything Henry Franklin & J. Dixon left with me on the 25 of Oct. 5 Bales 2069 lb cotton which was to apply on their store accounts & for rent; when sold but they were not willing willing to take the price that cotton brought at that time, but were to hold it it until about Christmas or whenever they thought the price would do, then I was to take it to market & they were to see it sold & I was to have the proceeds. This we all agreed to.

You say there is an attachment on all the crop? how is that they hauled all the corn away before I knew anything about it, & have sold it, there is only one & a half bales cotton, at the gin now, I had that attached. The contract says the crop is bound for rent they have put it beyond my reach. I ask nothing but justice.

Enclosed Please find Bills of Store Accounts and Blacksmith Work, which I trust will be allowed. Also please give any instructions to arbitrators that you may deem just, I wish to have it settled on Saturday as it will be a loss of time to delay it longer.

Very Respectfully
J.H. Stewart

P.S.
The said Dixon has not filled gullies or cut briers & has also burned rails & otherwise damaged the place J.H.S
