Sir I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your favor, of the 15 ult. requesting me to furnish the Office of Sub Comr Bu R.F.& A.L. Jackson Miss a list of person white and black adults and children who are residing in this county and are in destitute circumstances and in need of assistance. I herewith enclose a copy of all names of such persons taken from the records as far as has been reported. I have reason to believe that the list is not complete as numbers of which women who are very destitute refuse to be put on the Pauper list and numbers of negroes who subsist on the scanty charity of their former owners have either from their own ignorance or the carelessness of their white friends never been reported.

I have Sir the honor
to remain your obt servt
