I have the honor to make the following report relative to the Affairs in General in the Freedmens Bureau in my Sub-District. 
On the 6th day of July/66 George Washington (freedman) made a complaint at my office against Wm A Jones. Stating that Mr Jones had employed him a month and agreed to pay him ten dollars, at the expiration of the month. George asked Mr Jones for his pay stating that he wanted it to pay house rent. Mr Jones replied, "If you ever ask me again I will pay you across your back." and declined paying the boy. I sent a note requesting Mr Jones to come to my office for the purpose of having the case investigated. Mr Jones refused to recognize any
