successful operation and the Colored people manifest a strong desire that their children may be educated. There are also several Sunday schools in the Sub Dist.  all of which are largely attended.
 
There are many claims for wages due for labor performed subsequent to the 9th of April 1865. to the last spring. all of which are being speedily and satisfactorily (to the Freedmen)settled.

There is plenty of work at fair wages, the demand being greater than the supply.
