No children have been apprenticed by me during the month and but very cases of Sickness have occurred.  I am free to say that the morals and the domestic affairs of the Freedmen have been much improved Since the promulgation & explaination to them of Circulars No 11 & 10 from Hd Qrs Asst Commr of dates respectively March 12th & 19th 1866.  Upon inquiry at the Clerks office of the County Court of Fauquier I learn that they are now procuring their Licenses in accordance with the provisions of Circular No 11 already referred to in reference to future marriages

Owing to the extreme heat the school which has been in operation here for freedmen has been temporarily closed until September next.  Some interest has been manifested by the Clergy of the County for the Education of the
