Genl. O. Brown
Hd. Qrs. Asst. Com'r. State of Va.
Richmond. Va.

General.

Pursuant to Circ. No. 6 C.S. Hd. Qrs. Asst. Comm'r. State of Va. I have the honor to report the condition of affairs in this county, as materially unchanged since date of last report.

The several schools are closed during the yearly summer vacation.

The crops are under cultivation, but heavy returns, from present appearances, may not be expected.

Employment is being found as rapidly as possible for those needing it, but at this season there are necessarily numbers unemployed who, in the course of the coming month, will have constant occupation.

Great dissatisfaction still exists among the freed people
